EXPECTATIONS
Language: Icelandic is the primary language spoken, with English being used in tourist areas.
The Icelandic króna is the official currency of Iceland, but the Euro and the US dollar are also accepted in many places. 1 USD equals around 119,60 ISK.
NOTE: Iceland may be quite pricey, so make sure to read my Iceland Travel Tips on a Budget!
Credit cards and ATMs: Because Icelanders like to pay for practically everything with a credit or debit card, you won’t have to worry about lugging about a lot of cash. You will, however, require a chip and pin-based card.
